In the summer of 2007, during a field trip, our beloved senior professor—who was like a father to my wife and me—suffered a crisis when the extreme heat spoiled his insulin. Seeing our usually dignified mentor so helpless broke our hearts. When we searched for a portable cooler to help him, we found nothing on the market.Determined to protect him, we decided to create one ourselves.
